I realize some audience members have submitted questions either at my blog or backchannel to me by email. If there are any further questions that people desire to ask, they need to be submitted by the end of the day on January 31, 2008.
There is a word limit on the questions (100 words), and it would be preferable if the question was clearly directed to either PhatCatholic or TurretinFan.
If you'd like, you can submit the questions via the comments box for this post, although I will end up posting any questions in a new post.
As previously agreed, if the number of questions exceeds 5, PC will pick 3 and TF will pick 2 of the questions to be answered.

Incidentally, thanks to Ken, Dan, and Gene for their questions (which I have received). To keep the two sides of the audience from debating each other, PhatCatholic and I will be keeping our lists of questions secret from one another until tomorrow.
Incidentally, PC, if you'd like, we could expand the number of questions to 5 per side rather than 5 total. Let me know if that interests you.
Expanding the number of questions probably won't be necessary. Right now I only have one question for you.
Lo and behold, I have 5 questions for you now, but I'd rather not go 5 and 5 b/c I'm anxious to get this thing over and done with. So, perhaps we can go three and three? Let me know what you think.
Btw, can you fix the time on your blog so that it adequately reflects when I'm making these comments? (That is, of course, unless you actually live on the other side of the world or somethin like that).
I have 8:34pm EST, on Thursday, Jan 31st.
The clock is on unversal time (GMT). So, to get to EST you should subtract 5 hours.
Presumably the difference in minutes is just a Blogger thing.
Three questions to three questions is fine. I'll plan to post the three for you tomorrow without looking at the three you post for me. Then, we will each have 500 words/question to answer the questions, and then 100 words/question to rebut the other guy's answer.
Sound ok?

So, for each of your answers I would have 100 words to rebut it, if I so chose? I say that if you don't like any of my answers to the audience questions, make a post on your personal blog. I'll do the same. I don't think it should be a formal part of the debate b/c then we'll have this side debate added on to the regular debate and it just makes things cumbersome. Plus, I probably won't feel a strong need to respond to how you answer the crowd, unless you just say something totally off the wall. I say, you answer your questions, I'll answer my questions, and then we'll leave it up to the audience to decide who they side with.
Sounds agreeable. I'll be posting three questions of the questions (thanks to everyone who submitted questions) that I was given, without looking at any questions you post, some time today. I expect you not to peek at the questions I post in the process of selecting/submitting your own.
Questions are posted, but no peeking until you've posted your collection.
